On site refurbishment at Tomlins Nursery by Mike Hills Services

Tomlins Nursery, a long established nursery in Mascalls Lane, Brentwood, Essex needed an on-site refurbishment carrying out (following the joining together of two greenhouses by Tomlins), with differing floor levels.

The project called for on-site construction which could help to disguise both the two floor levels and a severe slope. In addition, the benches needed to be built around the greenhouse stanchions to maximise the area for pedestrian access and facilitate ease of shopping.

By constructing the benches with legs of varying lengths and benches of differing heights the visual appearance of the floor’s slope was minimised and a satisfying harmony was achieved.

The benches were finished with heavy gauge polythene lining with capillary matting and Mypex.
